My understanding of death began when I was twelve years old. It was during this period, my brother a Funeral Director, began introducing me into his business. Over the next several years, he taught me anatomy and physiology, mortuary science and other aspects of the funeral profession. By the time, I was twenty-one, I was in college and had completed my mortuary apprenticeship, and the next step was to attend mortuary school. I had a sudden change of heart. I decided instead of a career in the funeral business, I would continue my college education in psychology.
